FINANCIAL DONATIONS THROUGH INTERAC E-TRANSFER

We are pleased to inform you that financial donations to the official CAD account of the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Toronto can now be made through Interac e-Transfer in addition to the other options previously given. 

Details relevant for e-transfer:

  • Auto deposit is not permitted. Therefore, please enter a security question and answer.

Kindly include the following information;

  • Answer to the security question (necessary to receive the funds)
  • Name of the donor/organization
  • Postal address

Updated Emergency Relief Item List & Clearance Procedures for Flood-Relief Operations in Sri Lanka

The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Ottawa and the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Toronto wish to inform the Sri Lankan community, associations, and well-wishers that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism has issued updated instructions relating to emergency flood-relief contributions.

1. Updated List of Required Emergency Relief Items

The Ministry has released the updated list of priority relief items (to be updated periodically).

This list supersedes all previously issued lists, and donors are requested to follow the official list strictly to ensure alignment with the current requirements identified by the Government of Sri Lanka.

Please note that the Government of Sri Lanka will not bear any financial costs, including international transportation from donor countries to Colombo.

2. Guidelines for Sending Relief Items to Sri Lanka (For Duty Free Clearance)

The Ministry has also issued detailed procedures regarding the dispatch, documentation, consignee details, and customs clearance processes for relief consignments.

The High Commission and the Consulate General will assist with customs coordination and onward distribution in Sri Lanka for donations that comply with the official requirements.
