Fresh appeal for Flood Relief Assistance to Sri Lanka

Dear expatriate Sri Lankans and well-wishers,

As you are aware over 500,000 people in Sri Lanka have been severely affected by the recent floods and landslides caused by heavy rainfalls that have resulted in 213 deaths. Many people have been displaced and lost their belongings as a large number of houses have been completely destroyed. The displaced population is in need of assistance to return to their normal lives.

In order to facilitate flood relief assistance from Sri Lankan expatriates and well-wishers, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has opened a Bank Account in the name of “DST’s Disaster Relief Fund” at the Central Bank to receive cash donations from donors abroad through 05 foreign currency bank accounts maintained at the Sampath Bank.

Those who are willing to make their donations in foreign currencies are required to transmit their donations to one of the following accounts.

v.   Sampath Bank Swift Code    : BSAMLKLX 

Therefore, the expatriate Sri Lankans and well-wishers wishing to contribute to the flood relief efforts may now make use of the above accounts to channel their contributions directly.
