The 65th Anniversary of Independence will be celebrated on 4th February, 2013, and the High Commission is in the process of organizing this landmark event with the Sri Lankan Community on Sunday, 10th February 2013 at the Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington Street  Ottawa, ON K1A 0N4.

Among the Sri Lankan Community, we understand that there are many, who have made their mark in Canada and have been successful in their own field of work.  Many have received awards in recognition of their talents, skills and commitment.  Some have also been bestowed with the highest awards in Canada in appreciation and in recognition of their work and services in their respective fields.

We  hope to invite those who have received the highest awards  - recipients of the Governor General’s Awards or Queen’s Awards, to send us a brief note with details of the awards you have received .

This information is required as we wish to recognize such recipients at the 65th National Day on 10th February, 2013.Please send this information to the High Commission for the attention of Mr. Lional Premasiri, Deputy High Commissioner by 20th January, 2013.
