Assistance for Donation of Books and Educational Equipments to Rural Schools in Anuradhapura District

The Government of Sri Lanka has launched a programme to raise funds to purchase books and educational equipments to the rural schools in the Anuradhapura District coinciding with the ‘Dayata Kirula Development Programme’ scheduled to be held in Anuradhapura from 4th to 10th February 2012.

Sri Lanka High Commission in Ottawa welcomes financial contributions from the Sri Lankan expatriate community and well-wishes to accomplish this noble task.  Even small contribution would help in building this fund.

Financial contributions could be sent to this High Commission before 31st October 2011 and cheques could be drawn in favour of the “High Commission of Sri Lanka”.

Every contribution will be acknowledged with an official receipt and the contributions will be transferred to the General Deposit Account (GDA) of the Government of Sri Lanka, which will be utilized by the Ministry of External Affairs to purchase books and educational equipment to be distributed amongst rural schools in the Anuradhapura District.
