Foreign Minister Tilak Marapana visits Bosnia and Herzegovina

Minister of Foreign Affairs Tilak Marapana paid an official working visit to the Republic of Bosnia & Herzegovina from 28^th to 30^th September 2017 on an invitation extended by its Government.

The State Minister of Foreign Affairs Vasantha Senanayake visited India from 23-25th September 2017. He visited Kushinagar Pilgrim site on 24th September 2017. The Uttar Pradesh Government made arrangements to receive the state Minister on arrival at the Gorakpur Airport, and he was received by Group Captain Rajath Thiyagi, Sub Divisional Magistrate of Gorakpur at the Gorakpur Airport. In Kushinagar, he was received by Sub Divisional Magistrate of Kushinagar, Mr. Jayaprakash Shukla and was accorded a Police guard of honour.

In Kushinagar, State Minister Senanayake had discussions with Ven H. Assaji Thero, Chief Monk of the Sri Lanka- Japan Buddhist Center on the maintainance of the monuments and the temple, and on the facilities provided to the Buddhist pilgrims. The state Minister of Foreign Affairs also paid homepage to the sacred sites in Kushinagar.

Foreign Minister Tilak Marapana who is on his first official visit to the European Union Headquarters in Brussels held discussions with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and European Commissioner Christos Stylianides. The Foreign Minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs Dr. Harsha De Silva, Ambassador to the European Union Rodney Perera and senior officials.

වාර්ෂිකව නිව්යෝක්හි පැවැත්වෙන එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ වාර්ෂික සමුළුවේ 72 වන සැසිවාරයට සහභාගිවන අවස්ථාවේ අපේ රටේ පමණක් නොව විදේශ රටවල පවා සුවිශාලවූ ශාසනික මෙහෙවරක්, සමාජයීය මෙහෙවරක්, මානව හිතවාදී මෙහෙවරක් ඉටුකරනු ලැබූ ගෞරවනීය වන්දනීය කුරුණෑගොඩ පියතිස්ස නායක ස්වාමීන්ද්‍රයාණන් වහන්සේගේ ශාසනික සේවාව අගය කරමින් උන්වහන්සේට ශ්‍රී ලංකා රජය විසින් පිරිනමනු ලබන ගෞරව සන්නස් පත්‍රය පිළිගැන්වීමේ අවස්ථාවට සහභාගිවීමට ලැබීම පිළිබඳව මා ඉතාමත් සතුටු වෙනවා.

ගෞරවනීය සභාපති තුමනි,

සියලුම රාජ්‍ය නායකයිනි,

එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සංවිධානයේ ගෞරවනීය මහ ලේකම් තුමනි,

සියලුම ආරාධිත අමුත්තනි,

නෝනාවරුනි/ මහත්වරුනි,

මා ඉතාමත්ම සතුටු වෙනවා 72 වන සමුළුවේ විශේෂයෙන්ම නව මහ ලේකම් වරයෙක්, මහ ලේකම් තුමෙක් පත්වූ අවස්ථාවේ එතුමාට සුභ පතමින් මගේ කතාව ආරම්භ කිරීමට ලැබීම පිළිබඳව. විශේෂයෙන්ම ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ රාජ්‍ය නායකයා ලෙස තුන්වන වරටත් මේ ගරු සභාව ඇමතීමට ලැබීම පිළිබඳව මා ඉතාමත් සතුටු වෙනවා.

State Minister of Foreign Affairs Vasantha Senanayake attended the 12^th Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia on 4^th to 05^thSeptember 2017 at the invitation of Hon. Karl Erjavec, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia. The visit was preceded by a bilateral segment on 30th August to 2^nd September 2017 in the Capital Ljubljana.
