The Government and people of Sri Lanka are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives caused by the crash of Russian airliner Flight 9268 in Sinai, Egypt on Saturday, 31^st October 2015. 

The Government conveys heartfelt and profound condolences to the bereaved families and loved ones. 

The Government and people of Sri Lanka stand in solidarity with the Government and people of the Russian Federation as they come to terms with this tragic loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Russia at this difficult hour.
